FAQ

Some frequently asked questions and details on how I break down how I price my minis.

  • I am not currently accepting commissions.
  • All miniatures are hand-painted from purchased models. I do not print or model.
  • Minis are sourced from a variety of places, I will endeavor to list providence if I know it.
  • Mini price is based on cost of base mini, the time taken to assemble and paint, and any other added features such as kitbashing or added base scatter. (see full details below)
  • Minis are not toys, and should be handled with care. They are not designed for children under the age of 12.
Pricing Guide

Generally speaking, my minis sit in the $30-60 USD price range

Models
  • Standard model $ — This model was mass printed by a company (eg. WizKids minis)
  • Specialty model $$ — This model was designed by an independent designer and custom printed.
  • Oversized $$$ — This model is larger than your standard character mini. This includes monsters, larger animals, or simply scaled up miniatures.
  • Kitbashed $$$-$$$$ — This model was made by combining parts from multiple models, and is significantly modified from it's original form. Complexity can vary (eg. Lazarus was a vastly more complex build than Faint—both pictured above)
Bases
  • Standard base $ — This model has a very basic base. This could be a simple painted base that the mini was pre-attached to or a plasic puck base like the ones that come with WizKid minis.
  • Specialty base $$ — A seperate, custom-printed base, usually more elaborate in nature, with greater detail. Specialty minis often have their own specialty bases.
  • Scatter $$$ — This base has added environmental scatter, which is all individual painted and attached for added complexity.
  • Oversized $$$$ — This is essentially a diorama base adding full scenic elements surrounding the miniature. This is either an intentionally designed specialty base or a full scatter diorama on a large base.
Other factors
  • Time $-$$$ — Some minis take me longer than others. This often comes down to size and complexity. A kitbashed mini will always take longer, and a pre-attached base usually cuts down on paint time.
  • Materials $ — This isn't just paint, it's sculpting putty, high quality glue, varnishes, new brushes, etc. All the stuff that makes the mini pretty.
  • Damage $$ — Sometimes minis break! I will occassionally sell damaged, but still presentable and fully painted, minis at a discount. Past discounts have ranged from 30% to 80% off of the base price.
